Not very challenging, but a good platformer base from 2 days of work.

Thanks! And good to know, I'll work on improving that!
You have a decent base for a defense game here, especially with the upgrade screen. How can you make it different from the others? I'd start with choosing a different background and a theme.
This game was made for the ludum dare jam in 48 hours. Because of appointments I had relatively little time. But I will update the game soon.. with sound effects and backgrounds.
This was more of a movie than a game; barely interactive at all, confusing, and with no point. And if it's a demo like it turned out to be, you should really tell people ahead of time.
Did you try checking the cameras?
Would be nice to have something to shoot at - why are you posting dev stuff on NG?
Sorry...
i guess -.-
The problem with the basic pixelart - hard to see your moves. The controls are too confusing, and the goal of the game is still a basic dungeon crawl. What makes this different?
The main difference is the very high player skill cap. You can do long combos by juggling your enemies into the air multiple times. To do that, you need to learn positioning and perfect timing for your skills and attacks.
TL;DR: The combat system is more like in a beat 'em up, instead of brainless left-clicking as we see it in lots of other dungeon crawlers.
I didn't think anyone could make a good remake of Snakes. But I think you mean "increasing in size," not "decreasing."
if you are collecting gold your long is increasing, but if you reach next level your volume size is decreasing (diameter of cells is smaller) and so you have more space on the screen. After level 5 you have new item called the remover, which remove last cells from you. This depends on actual count number.
The slowmo is actually a good idea.
Any way to make the game click- or keyboard-only? Mixing the two is confusing.
Nah, that would be awkward. Joysticks are better though, they would allow for better controls.
I've been coming to this game for months. Is there some way to tell how to get some of the exams? For example, how can I "tour" the areas? I'm at L14, with 66 exam marks, and need 75 for the next level.
You have a guide in reddit
A good idea, but the ghost needs to respond to the controls a lot better.
Thanks :) It is a game from 5 years ago, I will make a better game.
Watch the code - by clicking several times in a row, I managed to end a game with one card left on the screen.
Thanks for your response! Problem fixed, I hope.
